Role Summary
The Internal Communications Manager plays an integral role in fostering an organizational culture and a workforce that feels strongly connected to BILH's mission. As part of the Communications Department’s Center of Expertise in internal communications, this individual is a subject matter expert in employee engagement and develops and implements strategies designed to inform and engage employees and physicians. Working collaboratively with others in the department, the Internal Communications Manager also ensures that BILH’s internal communications efforts reflect the organization’s values and priorities and that communications efforts are closely aligned across channels.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Partnering with colleagues in the Department of Communications, including the liaison assigned to serve as the point of contact for each hospital, clinical unit and system service, to articulate and strengthen BILH's organizational culture and to foster employee engagement.
- Developing and implementing effective communications strategies designed to inform and engage diverse internal constituencies.
- Creating innovative content and deliverables to support those strategies.
- Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of internal communications strategies and adapting accordingly.
- Helping foster alignment of communications strategies, tactics and resources across the system in order to build a strong organizational culture and advance the BILH brand internally.
- Serving as a subject matter expert in internal communications, providing strategic guidance and support for the organization’s efforts to foster employee engagement.
- Making strategic recommendations for driving engagement with internal audiences, leveraging existing communications channels and exploring potential new platforms or approaches.
- Writing and editing internal communications content for use across BILH internal channels, including newsletters, broadcast emails, intranets, digital signage, employee toolkits, talking points.
- Contributing to a client-centric operating model, providing proactive and responsive support for BILH System Services, hospitals and/or clinical units.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Department of Communications to ensure alignment and consistency across internal and external channels.
- Staying up-to-date on national trends and best practices in internal communications and employee engagement.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5+ years related work experience required in Internal Communications.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications, which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents and perform analysis.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Health care industry experience preferred.
