Role Overview
As a Data Engineer, you will build and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines. Your role involves transforming raw data into trusted datasets and enabling better decision-making. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will design batch and streaming workflows and support our growing data platform with a focus on performance, automation, and reliability.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines using modern data tools and cloud platforms.
- Monitor internal dashboards to identify and escalate production issues.
- Respond to support requests from data users regarding data access and performance.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and project managers to ensure smooth data operations.
- Document pipelines, systems, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Promote data quality and governance in our information environment.
What You’ll Learn And Be Exposed To
- Building, running, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines.
- Working with APIs and real-time data ingestion.
- Utilizing tools like Airflow, Databricks, Great Expectations, and Alation.
- Collaboration with experienced senior data engineers and mentors.
- Continuous integration and delivery of data solutions in production.
Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required
- Strong foundation in SQL and a programming language (Python, Java, Scala).
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data ingestion techniques.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow and monitoring tools like Datadog.
- Good communication, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
Nice To Have
- Experience with observability and performance tools (Datadog, Dynatrace).
- Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of Domain-Driven Design and data governance practices.
- Experience with high-volume, high-performance production environments.
