The Role of a Medical Science Liaison Manager
As a Medical Science Liaison Manager, you will actively contribute to shaping the future of medicine. You will be more than just a disseminator of scientific information; you will be a strategic partner, building sustainable relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and medical experts. Your expertise and understanding of clinical needs will be vital in advancing our projects and improving patient care. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Primary and proactive representation and promotion of the medical-scientific value of assigned products among selected medical-scientific experts within your geographical area.
- Gathering information on current and upcoming medical-scientific developments related to the products you manage, and targeted knowledge transfer within and outside the company.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for university-based or research-oriented experts and centers, and facilitating discussions on technical and project-related topics.
- Identifying, evaluating, and implementing necessary actions and options in line with the company's strategic and operational goals.
- Identifying medical science experts for projects, and engaging them in the planning and execution of defined projects such as continuing education, symposia, advisory activities, publications, and data generation/analysis projects.
- Fostering cross-functional collaboration with all relevant internal departments and, where applicable, other healthcare stakeholders like medical societies, professional associations, health insurance funds, and regional physician networks (KVen).
- Participating in national and selected international events, including conferences, congresses, and specialized meetings.
What You Bring:
- Completed direct university studies (Master's, Diploma, or State Examination), preferably in Biology, Human Biology, or Ökotrophologie, with extensive relevant professional experience in pharmaceutical sales or a medical department. A PhD is desirable.
- Experience in Cardiology, Lipidology, and Pneumology is desirable.
- Proven experience in engaging with medical key opinion leaders, and in interpreting, contextualizing, and presenting medical studies and publications.
- Excellent knowledge and demonstrably successful project management skills.
- Specialized knowledge in the fields of respiratory diseases, cardiology, and lipidology is an advantage.
- A communicative personality with excellent presentation and moderation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively and a valid driver's license (PKW).
- Excellent German and fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
