At Bending Spoons, we are dedicated to building one of the greatest companies of all time. Our mission is to serve a vast number of customers, foster the full potential of our team members, operate with exceptional effectiveness and efficiency, generate extraordinary value for shareowners, and uphold high ethical standards. We achieve this by acquiring and long-term operating digital businesses, implementing deep transformations to accelerate innovation, benefit customers, and enhance business performance. Our culture is characterized by minimal hierarchy, small, talent-dense teams, and the agility of a startup combined with the stability of established products. We deeply integrate AI into our workflows, merging human judgment with machine intelligence.

What This Role Offers

For a talented, driven, and collaborative individual, this internship presents an opportunity to learn, make a significant impact, and accelerate career progression. You will be entrusted with assessing and strengthening security, identifying vulnerabilities using modern tools and automation, and conducting security assessments. You'll have the chance to design and build solutions that automate security practices and embed controls into engineering workflows. Collaboration with privacy experts to translate regulatory requirements into technical safeguards, and staying ahead of emerging threats are also key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and strengthen security across systems and infrastructure using modern security tools, automation, and continuous testing.
  • Conduct internal security assessments and implement countermeasures to safeguard company data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Design and build solutions that automate security practices and embed strong security controls into engineering workflows.
  • Partner with privacy experts to translate regulatory requirements into robust technical safeguards.
  • Track emerging vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and security practices, sharing knowledge to enhance the company's security posture.

What We Look For

  • Reasoning Ability: Capacity to solve complex problems with first-principles thinking, structured ideas, and attention to detail, while resisting biases.
  • Drive: Extreme ambition matched by initiative, effort, and tenacity, with a deep sense of responsibility and a high, consistently rising personal standard.
  • Team Spirit: Generosity without expectation of return, supporting the best ideas, willingness to help the team, reliability, honesty, and transparency.
  • English Proficiency: Proficient reading, writing, and speaking English.

What We Offer

  • Talented Teams: Work in small, results-oriented, autonomous teams with bright individuals.
  • Growth Opportunities: Exceptional potential for career advancement, with opportunities to lead projects and take on significant responsibilities early on.
  • Compensation: Competitive pay with potential access to equity. Typical annual salary for interns is €66,065 elsewhere in Europe. Compensation varies by location and impact.
  • Benefits: Flexible hours, remote working options, unlimited learning and training support, top-tier health insurance, relocation assistance, generous parental support, and an annual retreat.
  • Flexibility: Flexible start dates and part-time options, allowing you to begin before graduation and transition to full-time.

Commitment & Contract

Permanent or fixed-term. Full-time or part-time.

Location

Milan (Italy), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Warsaw (Poland) or remote in selected countries.

The Selection Process

We prioritize verifiable signals of excellence. Don't self-reject if you feel you lack experience. The process includes challenging tests that may involve unfamiliar problems. We maintain high standards and only extend offers to the right candidates, which may result in positions remaining open or being reposted. We consider all applicants and provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Before You Apply

If you've applied before without an offer, consider waiting a year. Bending Spoons is demanding yet offers extraordinary learning and growth.
