About The Position
The Events Officer role is designed to plan, manage and deliver community events and activities. The position involves working in partnership with key stakeholders to host successful Council events and support partnership events. The role includes developing and promoting a dynamic annual events program that attracts visitors, improves community lifestyle, and drives economic and community benefit.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with community and business stakeholders to identify event opportunities.
- Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering the Council's annual events program.
- Manage procurement and contracts with event contractors while monitoring budgets.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop marketing strategies.
- Apply event and project management skills to deliver events within deadlines.
- Liaise with government agencies to ensure legislative compliance and risk management.
About You
The ideal candidate holds tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Event Management or Marketing (minimum Certificate IV), with over 5 years of relevant experience. Experience in customer service, conflict resolution, and successful delivery of multiple events is essential. A current NSW Drivers License is required.
What We Offer
- Temporary full time (35 hours/week) or part time (21 hours/week) term contract up to 3 years.
- Competitive hourly rates ranging from $37.70 to $42.36 plus 12% superannuation.
