The Opportunity
This role is designed for an intermediate to senior level Estimator joining the Newcastle team. You will take charge of 1–2 tenders at a time, preparing detailed estimates and bid submissions, while collaborating with the Estimating Manager and other team members. The role, reporting to the QLD based Estimating Manager, also involves occasional Contracts Administration tasks during downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost plans, take-offs, and tender submissions
- Price preliminaries and assess subcontractor pricing
- Develop methodology, program, and bid strategy
- Liaise with project and delivery teams for smooth handover
- Assist in Contracts Administration duties when required
About You
Applicants should be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. A minimum of 5+ years estimating experience with a commercial builder, along with strong knowledge of local construction methods and trade pricing, is essential. Proficiency in Buildsoft and established subcontractor relationships are key. This role offers potential progression toward management.
