Commercial Cleaning Subcontractor: Periodical Cleaning

Job Summary

The Bendigo Advertiser is seeking skilled and detail-oriented subcontractors to perform scheduled deep and periodical cleaning tasks across a variety of sites. This includes commercial kitchens, childcare centres, offices, and public amenities. Services encompass floor scrubbing, strip and seal, high dusting, pressure cleaning, window cleaning, and full hygienic cleans of high-risk or food-preparation areas. The role requires a high standard of work, adherence to WHS and hygiene protocols, and reliable communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full commercial kitchen cleans, including: Degreasing exhaust fans, range hoods, cooktops, walls, ceilings, splashbacks, and floors.
• Cleaning cool rooms, stainless steel surfaces, and kitchen equipment, ensuring HACCP-level hygiene standards are met.
• Conduct high dusting in hard-to-reach areas, such as ceiling vents, beams, lighting fixtures, and high ledges.
• Operate auto scrubbers and rotary machines to scrub and restore hard floors.
• Execute strip and seal for vinyl and safety floors.
• Pressure clean external surfaces like play areas, bin areas, and building façades.
• Complete childcare centre deep cleans, including disinfection of surfaces, play zones, bathrooms, and sleep areas.
• Perform interior and exterior window cleaning, including high access work if certified.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, adhere to WHS standards, and ensure job site safety.
• Communicate effectively with the team leader or client contact and submit required job reports/photos.

Requirements

• ABN and Public Liability Insurance (essential).
• Proven experience in deep cleaning and floor care.
• Experience with kitchen and/or hospitality cleaning to health standards.
• Own equipment (or access to it), including scrubbers, steam cleaners, pressure washers, ladders.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
• White Card, Police Check, and Working With Children Check (preferred for school/childcare jobs).
• Knowledge of safe chemical use, PPE, and WHS compliance.

Desirable Certifications

• Working at Heights certificate (for high dusting/window cleaning).
• First Aid Certificate.
• Infection control awareness (especially for childcare/healthcare sites).
