About the Role

The Category Specialist - Newcastle will join the strong Procurement team reporting to a Category Manager. In this role, you will support the execution of Whitehaven Coal’s Procurement strategy while conducting tenders for goods and services during an exciting phase of growth.

What You'll Do

  • Manage category operations and support contract negotiations.
  • Negotiate supplier pricing and review spend levels.
  • Work to reduce commercial risks and deliver sustainable procurement.
  • Conduct tenders and support procurement strategy execution.
  • Occasional travel to operating sites required.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in Procurement, Category Management, or Sourcing.
  • Strong negotiation skills with tender leadership experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Preference for experience in mining, resources, or construction industries.
