Where You'll Be Working

The Drug & Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS) Intake Team is a small, dynamic and supportive team based at the James Fletcher Campus in Newcastle. We provide a vital entry point for people accessing drug and alcohol services, supporting clients and their families at an important time in their care journey.

Our team environment is collaborative, respectful and encouraging. The work can be interesting, rewarding and, at times, challenging, but you’ll be surrounded by colleagues who value teamwork, share knowledge and support one another to deliver the best possible outcomes.

About The Role

This role provides efficient and effective administrative support within the DACS Intake Service. No two days are the same, and you’ll play an important part in keeping the service running smoothly.

A Typical Day May Include

  • Providing administrative support to the Intake Team and broader DACS teams
  • Assisting with procurement and HealthRoster tasks
  • Responding to medico-legal requests
  • Supporting DACS Administration as required

The service operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (excluding public holidays).

About You

You are a motivated and enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in providing high-quality administrative support.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, flexible approach to work
  • Confidence using computer systems and managing confidential information

Experience in a health or clinical setting is desirable, but many aspects of the role can be learned on the job with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Support And Development

You will be well supported in your role, with guidance and supervision from the Nurse Unit Manager, the DACS Intake Clinical Lead, and the wider Drug & Alcohol Clinical Services team. Comprehensive orientation and on-the-job training will be provided, along with access to ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
