The Content Strategy team is a dedicated group responsible for programming the TSN television and digital universe to ensure TSN’s place as Canada’s Sports Leader. Our team manages the end-to-end process of sports programming for TSN’s channels and platforms, from strategy and acquisition through scheduling, delivery, intake, and broadcast.
The Content Strategist, Programming, TSN role will be front and centre, working on the strategic programming of the TSN linear television channels, helping to build out and manage the schedule of various sports events. Learning from the best in the business, you will participate in scheduling decisions and work with the team to build lineups to support our sports and grow our audience. The position will also support the broader Content Strategy team in achieving strategic programming goals and objectives in the digital age.
Responsibilities
- Utilize business and sports expertise to maximize TSN’s programming value across digital and linear platforms.
- Research and plan for sports properties.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining multiple scheduling databases.
- Be able to plan and communicate on-air troubleshooting scenarios for live events.
- Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday.
- Work cooperatively with internal departments to ensure effective communication of all content plans.
- Responsible for preparation and communication of programming and content.
- Work directly with key internal and external stakeholders (including sports leagues).
- Screen and prepare content for broadcast.
- Maintain the FEED Resources schedule with up-to-date requirements based on program needs.
- Follow program schedules and arrange tools required to aid our Presentation Coordinators in MCR.
- Troubleshoot on-air programming issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong sports knowledge and a passion for sports required.
- Experience in a media environment strongly preferred.
- Maintain accuracy while handling multiple projects on a daily basis.
- Must be able to maintain large volumes of information within a programming database.
- Ability to catch errors and have the analytical ability to seek solutions to correct them.
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, while comfortable managing your own deadlines.
- Previous experience with IBMS, cue sheets, and paper editing an asset but not required.
