Overview
At Bookkeeper for BELAY, you will provide bookkeeping services as an independent contractor working remotely from your home office. You must be available during normal business hours and have a strong command of communication via phone, email, text, and web conferencing tools like Zoom.
Job Duties
- Pay client's bills on a weekly basis
- Bank statement reconciliation
- Budget management and cash flow monitoring
- Journal and data entry (coding)
- Weekly & monthly reports including balance sheets, P&L, and budget vs. actual
- Maintain and manage chart of accounts
- Debit/credit cards reconciliation and 1099 preparation
- Process payroll and support e-commerce tasks
- Sales tax filing and other custom reports as required
Required Experience & Tools
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in accounting/bookkeeping with payroll experience and in-depth understanding in Quickbooks (desktop and online).
The role requires a home office setup with a computer, webcam, smartphone for communications, and high-speed internet.

Additional Information
This position is open to residents of all states except California, Colorado, Montana, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. If offered a contract, you will join the exclusive BELAY contractor network with access to a dedicated job board.
