About the role
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is seeking Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs, FNPs, AGNPs) or Physician Assistants (PA-C) licensed in Oregon to provide direct patient care within contracted Skilled Nursing Facilities. Behavioral Health Solutions' team specializes in comprehensive behavioral health services for adults and geriatrics across various settings. We foster a collaborative culture with hands-on leadership and are looking for skilled professionals dedicated to state-of-the-art psychiatric services.
Service Areas:
Portland, Hillsboro
Responsibilities:
- Provide face-to-face psychiatric services to patients directly in Skilled Nursing Facilities.
- Assess patient’s mental status based on symptoms.
- Diagnose DSM-V disorders and develop treatment plans.
- Apply appropriate medical decision-making skills for mental health issues, including psychopharmacology and non-pharmacological treatments.
- Staff clinical cases with psychiatrists.
Job Type:
Full-time or Part-time. Available as W2 Billable Hour or 1099 Independent Contractor.
Requirements:
- Licensed in Oregon by the Board of Nursing with a focus in psychiatry.
- Licensed by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances (possession of a DEA).
- Possession of Malpractice Insurance if Independent Contractor (offered by the company for W2 employees).
- 1 year of Geri Psych Experience.
- 1 year of experience providing treatment within Skilled Nursing Facilities and/or Acute Rehab Hospitals.
Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Experience with EMR/EHR Systems (Athena I is a plus).
- Excellent written communication.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work under stressful situations.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
