Your Opportunity
As a Desktop / Browser Automation Engineer on BeGig, you’ll work on freelance projects focused on building robust, locally executed automation solutions for complex browser-based workflows. You’ll help teams automate mission-critical processes that cannot rely on APIs—without the constraints of a traditional full-time role.
What You’ll Do
- Build a locally executed desktop automation application
- Attach automation to an existing authenticated Chrome session
- Automate complex, non-API web form submissions
- Handle UI variability, session expiration, and retry mechanisms
- Design resilient selector strategies to tolerate UI changes
- Capture detailed success/failure logs for auditability and debugging
- Package and maintain the application using Electron or similar frameworks
Required Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on browser automation experience
- Strong experience with Playwright, Puppeteer, or Selenium (non-headless)
- Proven experience automating enterprise web applications without APIs
- Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for automation orchestration
- Experience running automation locally (not cloud-based)
- Strong debugging skills with a reliability- and stability-focused mindset
