Role Summary

As a University Hire, Supply Chain Management, you will join the Procurement and Contracts organization, responsible for acquiring equipment and materials for Bechtel's global projects. Your functions will encompass work planning, sourcing, supplying, delivering, and storing procured equipment and materials. The Supplier Quality & Expediting center of excellence is crucial, focusing on surveillance and expediting suppliers to achieve zero defects and zero delays, supporting projects across all Global Business Units. This role demands detail-oriented individuals with multifaceted skills, flexibility, enthusiasm, and knowledge of supply chain functions, contract terms, and legal requirements.

Major Responsibilities & Typical Activities

  • Provide expertise in the qualification, evaluation, negotiation, and selection of global suppliers and contractors.
  • Manage purchase orders and subcontracts to ensure satisfactory performance and adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Manage complex logistics efforts in the transportation, receipt, and storage of equipment and material globally.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Engage with category management teams for technical and commercial intelligence on the supply chain.
  • Perform materials management to ensure proper planning, scheduling, and receipt of materials for project use.
  • Engage with Supplier Quality & Expediting for oversight of all surveillance activities.

General Job Duties

  • Performing tasks involved in the formulation and administration of purchase orders.
  • Preparing service contracts outlining project scope, schedule, and terms.
  • Contacting suppliers for timely submission of engineering data and other deliverables.
  • Coordinating shipments of materials and equipment with internal and external entities.
  • Reviewing material requisitions from a Supplier Quality perspective.
  • Providing assistance and support for Supplier Quality and Expediting activities, including scheduling, planning, and reporting.

Basic Qualifications

To be considered for this University Hire, Supply Chain Management role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Production and Operations Management, or Logistics Management from an accredited college or university within the past 12 months or anticipate obtaining a degree within the next year.
  • Eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed relevant coursework.
  • Previous co-op or internship experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.
