Associate, Marketing & Communication at Beacon Power Services
Beacon Power Services, a technology company focused on electrical grid management software and network analytics solutions for utilities across Africa, is seeking a creative and detail-driven Associate, Marketing & Communication. This role is pivotal in elevating and amplifying the BPS brand, sharpening its narrative positioning, and showcasing its impact across Africa’s energy sector. The ideal candidate will be a sharp writer and strategic thinker with a passion for powerful storytelling at the intersection of technology and energy.
This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days in the office and 3 days remote, based in either Lagos, Nigeria or Accra, Ghana, and reports to the Senior Manager – Marketing & Communication.
How You'll Make an Impact
You will drive compelling internal and external communications that showcase Beacon Power Services' impact across Africa’s energy sector. Your work will elevate the BPS brand and refine its narrative positioning, contributing significantly to its mission of expanding access to reliable electricity for over 400 million people.
What You'll Do
- Content Creation & Copywriting
- Draft, edit, and proofread insight-led content for various channels, including social media, blog posts, newsletters, press releases, and website copy.
- Support the translation of complex technical and operational work into clear, compelling narratives that position BPS as a thought leader in Africa’s energy sector.
- Social Media Management
- Ensure the day-to-day management of BPS’s social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X), ensuring consistent brand voice and visual identity.
- Build and execute strategic content calendars aligned with business priorities and campaign objectives.
- Track engagement metrics and audience insights to continuously optimize performance and reach.
- Brand Strategy Support
- Support the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns aligned with corporate goals and growth priorities.
- Strengthen brand visibility and positioning across key markets through targeted storytelling and audience segmentation.
- Internal Communications
- Partner with internal teams to craft impactful announcements, newsletters, and leadership communications.
- Support employer branding initiatives that reinforce culture, engagement, and talent attraction.
- Event & Webinar Coordination
- Support the planning and coordination of webinars, conferences, and industry engagements that showcase BPS’s expertise and impact.
- Amplify event visibility through pre- and post-event communications across digital platforms.
What We're Looking For
Professional & Technical Strengths
- Experience in marketing, corporate communications, public relations, or a related role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail, tone, and grammar.
- Proven experience managing corporate social media accounts and creating engaging digital content.
- Proficiency with marketing and analytics tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Canva), with working knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
- Ability to distill complex technical or energy-related concepts into clear, persuasive, and audience-focused narratives.
Leadership & Interpersonal Strengths
- Ability to collaborate with multicultural and geographically distributed teams.
- High degree of autonomy and accountability (we operate within a hybrid work environment).
- Proactive, self-driven professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.

- Clear, structured communicator with strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a B2B technology, SaaS, or fast-growth company environment.
- Familiarity with graphic design or video editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite).
- Fluency in French.
