Your Opportunity as an Information Systems Auditor
As an Information Systems Auditor in BDO Canada's Technology Risk Assurance Group, you will report to our Audit & Assurance Practice. This new role offers the flexibility to work out of any of our Canadian offices and involves significant responsibilities in IT General Controls and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assessments of IT General Controls for purposes of financial statement audits and prepare appropriate working papers, including gathering information around understanding the client’s IT environment and requesting data to support these activities.
- Collaborate with Managers to scope, budget, and ultimately review files prepared by junior Information Systems Auditors.
- Review, document, evaluate, and test business processes and internal controls for design and operational effectiveness in a wide range of environments and industries.
- Develop client deliverables, including risk assessments, analyses, recommendations, and reporting documentation.
- Provide clients advice regarding recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with engagement teams to establish timelines and ensure high quality client service.
- Assist Managers with business development proposals on existing/new clients.
- Maintain a proactive and logical approach to information gathering and present complex ideas through clear communications.
- Build positive working relationships with clients and identify improvements for future assignments.

Your Experience and Education
- You have at least 2 years of professional experience in external audit, risk advisory, consulting or internal audit.
- You have completed a university degree, certificate, or diploma program in accounting, business or commerce with a focus on technology.
- Experience in IT security, cybersecurity or network operations would be considered an asset.
- Completed all the pre-requisite courses for the CPA program and working towards or planning to work towards CPA Canada’s Chartered Professional Accountant designation; and/or Working towards or planning to work towards ISACA’s Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation.
- You have a desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork.
- You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Fluency in both English and French is an asset.
