Marketing Intern Digital Content and Social Media
BD Interventional Surgery worldwide business unit, located in Rhode Island, is a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of innovative, life-enhancing medical technologies. The Advanced Repair and Reconstruction (AR&R) Platform is the aspirational leader in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (PRS), and home to the GalaFLEX™ Scaffold collection—a biologically derived, P4HB-based scaffold that supports, repairs, and reinforces soft tissue in plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures.
This intern will be focused on marketing strategic initiatives and provide support to members of the Digital Marketing team responsible for supporting the GalaFLEX™ Scaffold portfolio strategy and executing against strategies to achieve commercial excellence.

As the Marketing Intern - Digital Content and Social Media, you will help to shape what the digital initiatives at BD look like – especially as it comes to the eCommerce and marketing website, social media, digital campaigns, visual content creation, and more. You will develop a deep understanding of marketing strategy, digital best practices, and campaign execution, while also growing your design skills and developing independent projects you can add to your portfolio. This role will have the opportunity to work on product and brand content for the GalaFLEX™ Scaffold collection under the support of an award-winning team.

Responsibilities
- Under the mentorship of the digital marketing team members, the Intern will support digital marketing initiatives, campaigns, and projects. They will focus on:
- The advertising and promotion (AdProm) content approval process.
- Strategy and execution of social media content and engagement management.
- Support the creation and publishing of landing page content within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including page builds, asset uploads, and component configuration for the GalaFLEX™ Scaffold digital ecosystem.
- Assist in the design and optimization of eCommerce and marketing website layouts, ensuring brand consistency, mobile responsiveness, and adherence to BD digital standards.
- Handling content calendars (social media, email, etc.) and assisting in the design and creation of visual content using tools such as Canva.
- Working within project management software to assist execution and tactical strategies, contribute to project management charts and forward planning. Passionate about project coordination and logistics for meaningful digital marketing impact.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the AR&R portfolio, dedicated to the GalaFLEX™ Scaffold strategy in plastic and reconstructive surgery and its competitive landscape.
- Assist with additional digital marketing responsibilities, which will include – but won’t be limited to – reporting and analytics dashboards, paid advertising planning, persona development and customer journey management, competitive landscape and intel discovery, SEM and SEO.
- Drive commercial excellence by collaborating cross-functionally with other marketing concentrations.
Education & Qualifications
- Current Bachelor's degree or Master's level program student in Business, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or other applicable program with an interest or focus on digital marketing and visual content creation.
- Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), preferably Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of web content best practices including responsive design, accessibility, and UX principles.

Work Environment
