Sourcing Manager - Meeting & Event Venues at BCD Travel

As a Sourcing Manager - Meeting & Event Venues, you will play a crucial role in creating and submitting proposal requests (RFPs), as well as sourcing and contracting hotels, venues, and ground transportation providers for a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

In this remote, full-time position, you will be accountable for:

  • Consulting clients to understand meeting goals, objectives, and specific requirements for sleeping rooms and event spaces.
  • Making informed recommendations based on supplier relationships, budget constraints, location preferences, availability, and overall event objectives.
  • Distributing, monitoring, and analyzing supplier Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to meet client meeting needs effectively.
  • Negotiating contracts to secure the best possible prices and concessions, ensuring savings expectations on meeting spend are met.
  • Sourcing preferred ground transportation providers and presenting comprehensive proposals to groups.
  • Efficiently managing amendments and cancellation requests for various bookings.
  • Staying current with new destination options, cost-effective seasonal offerings, and “hot date” availability.
  • Accurately entering and updating contracted details and negotiated savings within the CVENT system.
  • Monitoring hotel penalties to identify rebooking opportunities and optimize client spend.
  • Adhering strictly to client compliance guidelines and performance management Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Providing consistently excellent customer service to all clients and stakeholders.

About You

The ideal candidate for the Sourcing Manager - Meeting & Event Venues role will possess:

  • Prior experience in the travel industry and a strong knowledge of various destinations is a plus.
  • Mandatory CVENT experience; a CVENT certification is highly preferred.
  • International experience is an added advantage.
  • Relevant certifications such as CMP, CMM, HMCC, or CMP-HC are a plus.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Proven track record in hotel sourcing, contracting, and overall meetings management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows platform, and Adobe Pro.
