Position Summary
BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team. This role provides hybrid onsite program and project management support to the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Environmental Restoration Program at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland, TX.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Support AFCEC Program Managers with remediation project management including invoice reviews, budget monitoring, schedule tracking, contract modification, technical document reviews, and meeting participation.
- Prepare draft procurement/acquisition documents, statements of work, objectives, cost estimates, and contracting letters.
- Conduct site visits for periodic contract surveillance and oversight.
Key Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a T-1 Trustworthiness clearance/CAC.
- Experience with the Air Force Environmental Restoration Program (AF ERP) and performance-based remediation contracts.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and environmental regulations (DERP, RCRA, CERCLA).
- Strong teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience & Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field is required. Ideally, candidates should have 3 to 10 years’ experience in environmental restoration projects.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and sit for prolonged periods.
- Capability to operate office equipment and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Must be able to lift over 25 lbs and observe close details.
