The Role

Barden is partnering with a very well established law firm currently looking to recruit an Employment Lawyer to join its team. You will join a team providing strategic advice and practical solutions across both public and private sectors.

The role covers a diverse caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters including:

  • Advising and guiding employers during investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and termination of employment.
  • Providing counsel on protected disclosures, transfer of undertakings, employment equality, and unfair dismissals.
  • Representing employers (primarily) and employees before bodies like the Workplace Relations Commission, Labour Court, and Civil Courts.
  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on contracts, policies, and termination agreements.

The team also supports public and private sector clients on a range of Data Protection and regulatory matters.

The Person

  • Irish qualified Solicitor with ideally 6-7 years' PQE (applications at different PQE levels considered).
  • In-depth knowledge of a wide range of employment matters, with either employee or employer experience.
  • Data Protection advisory experience is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Ability to handle a caseload independently while being an effective team player.
  • Commercial and practical approach to legal issues over an academic one.
