About the role
Senior Technical Writer - Networking
Our client, a multinational company that provides networking solutions to power business, is looking for a senior technical writer to join their Wired Applications team. The writer will create and maintain technical documentation for complex networking and platform products, collaborate with global cross-functional teams, and independently manage deliverables across release cycles. This is an initial 12-month contract with a view to longer-term work, offering an immediate start and 100% remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, review, and maintain technical documentation including Command Reference, User Guide, Configuration Guide, Troubleshooting Guide, Release Notes, and Deployment Guide.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, proactively align on deliverables, and surface risks or blockers early.
- Maintain documentation standards, templates, and information architecture in alignment with the Extreme Networks Style Guide.
- Use structured authoring tools and CCMS platforms such as oXygen and Heretto.
- Continuously improve existing content for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Drive content review and approval workflows with stakeholders, ensuring timely sign-off.
- Manage project timelines independently, consistently meet deadlines, and communicate schedule risks proactively with recommended mitigations.
- Prepare and submit documents for publishing in compliance with AI quality standards set by the User Enablement team.
- Actively engage with AI-assisted documentation workflows, including prompt crafting, output review, and iterative refinement using tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Rovo.
- Champion a culture of proactive communication — anticipate information gaps, keep cross-functional partners informed without being asked, and raise issues through the right channels.
