About the Role - Stress Testing AVP
This role supports the Risk Function in safeguarding Barclays' financial and operational stability by identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units. The position involves developing strategic direction for risk, managing risk departmental performance, and ensuring adherence to risk policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement risk methodologies and processes.
- Manage the risk department and oversee risk colleagues.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external risk stakeholders.
- Monitor Country stress expected loss limits and breaches.
- Collaborate with CoREs and risk pillars to provide risk information.
- Drive control processes, improve risk frameworks, and foster innovation.
Assistant Vice President Expectations
Advise on critical decision making, contribute policy development, and lead teams. Demonstrate leadership behaviours: Listen, Energise, Align, and Develop. For individual contributors, lead by guiding team members and contributing to cross-functional assignments.
Skills and Experience
- 4+ years in risk management at a leading Corporate/Investment Bank.
- Experience in stress testing with understanding of Credit/Market Risk.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of VBA, Python, SAS (or R), SQL, IFRS9 & BCBS239.
- Academic background in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or Technology.
