About the role
About the Role
Join us as a Vice President, Client Insights and Analytics at Barclays. The Client Insights and Analytics (CIA) division, within the Client Data and Engineering Group, focuses on delivering analytics based on client data, including capital returns across CIB businesses. CIA partners closely with Senior Relationship Management, Banking, Markets Distribution, and Trading to assess the needs of Institutional and Corporate clients while ensuring optimal value creation for shareholders.
As a CDEG VP, you will be responsible for calculating client relationship returns within CIB, supported by a suite of technology platforms that enable informed business decision-making. CIA also collaborates extensively with teams across Corporate Bank, Payments, Barclaycard, PBOS, Treasury, Finance, and IT to design and implement both strategic and tactical solutions. This broad engagement model ensures effective deployment of financial resources across Barclays International. In addition, CIA contributes client and data insights to numerous Pan-Barclays International initiatives, senior management presentations, and analyses for the Power of One Barclays (P1B) program.
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role, which supports the delivery of high-priority, cross-business client initiatives across Investment Banking. You will work closely with senior team members, coverage partners, and technology to help deliver accurate, well-structured insights and reporting, particularly across strategic client areas like Alternative Asset Managers and Global Treasury Coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Support high-priority, cross-business efforts, focused on building out the Power of One Ethos across the firm (largely Pan-IB, PBWM).
- Assist in building out planning for Strategic Projects including milestones, KPIs and key deliverables.
- Develop financial models and scenario planning to assess the viability and potential impact of strategic initiatives.
- Assist with ad hoc deep dives into IB wide client initiatives.
- Assist in production of KPIs for initiatives being run, as well as senior management presentations.
- Monitor industry trends, benchmark peers, and synthesise external insights to anticipate shifts and identify opportunities.
- Analyze market and industry trends to generate insights that shape strategic direction and competitive positioning.
- Provide operating and administrative support to senior leaders, simultaneously shaping and executing long-term strategic change, whilst helping to navigate complex challenges in the performance of their roles.
- Implement Target Operating Model, business development, and financial and non-financial resource allocation, providing strategic insight and thought leadership.
- Provide strategic support to and oversight of demand pipeline and the book of work, including assistance in the development and execution of strategic initiatives, projects, research, and analysis to support decision-making.
- Support and guide operational efficiency and colleague/customer/client experience within the organisation, including the identification of areas for improvement, streamlining of processes, and implementation of best practices to enhance productivity, effectiveness and experience.
- Manage people plans, talent development, and succession planning, including the identification of high-potential employees, provision of mentorship and guidance, and support to leadership development and diversity initiatives.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, manage communication channels, and ensure effective coordination across different departments and teams.
- Participate in compliance activities such as SMR and other regulatory registrations/certifications, as well as support for crisis management and risk mitigation, including the development of contingency plans, coordination of responses to emergencies, and business continuity.
- Manage all organisational/team requirements relating to technology, real estate, people and communications in conjunction with relevant partners across the firm.
- Enable oversight of risk management and compliance with internal and external requirements, including internal Governance on critical control activities in partnership with the CCO team, such as Records Inventory and RCSAs.
- Oversee cost control and workforce management of the Business/Function, including involvement in financial analysis and planning, forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance against targets.
