About the Role

Join us as a Technical Delivery Manager at Barclays where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end delivery ownership of payments and banking technology initiatives, including planning, execution and delivery assurance, preferably within payment messaging domains.
  • Strong delivery management skills including schedule, financials, dependency management, RAID ownership, executive reporting and senior stakeholder communication.
  • Working closely with engineering, architecture, operations, business and vendor teams to deliver complex, cross-functional technical change.
  • Operating within regulated environments with a strong focus on risk management, controls, audit readiness and compliance with enterprise change frameworks.
  • Good understanding of payment flows, SWIFT messages, clearing and settlement, and financial messaging lifecycles (MT / ISO 20022 exposure preferred).
  • Experience delivering large-scale platform upgrades, migrations or transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe or hybrid delivery models within enterprise technology environments.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical delivery into clear business outcomes.
  • Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Staying abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving delivery outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.
