About the Role

Join us as a TCRS Governance & Enablement Analyst at Barclays, where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You'll harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionise our digital offerings, ensuring unapparelled customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with Controls, Governance, Technology & Cyber controls, Reporting and Risk Management. You will have a comprehensive understanding of governance and control frameworks, Technology & Cyber controls and processes prescribed for Control Committees. Key deliverables include: Controls governance & reporting for controls committees, Issue Reporting to the CCO Management/ stakeholders. A working knowledge of Technology & Cyber controls, data crunching/analysis and reporting, and experience in PowerApps/Power Automate, Macro/VBA Script, or Alteryx are essential.

Basic/Essential Qualifications

  • Graduate in Science & Technology discipline.
  • Experience in Controls, Governance, Reporting and Risk Management, preferably in a financial services organization.
  • Comprehensive understanding of governance and control frameworks and processes for Control Committees.
  • Working knowledge of Technology & Cyber controls.
  • Experience in data crunching/analysis and reporting, preferably in a financial services organization.
  • Basic knowledge of the Technology and Cyber landscape from a Banking/Financial perspective.
  • Experience with PowerApps/Power Automate, Tableau, Macro/VBA Script/Alteryx.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent execution skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, business-focused and forward thinking.
  • Sound commercial judgment and overall understanding of the Financial Services Industry.

Desirable Skillsets/ Good To Have

  • Working knowledge of Co-Pilot and BI Query/Tableau.
  • Excellent relationship building and networking skills.
  • Experience in managing/ supporting controls/ Risk committees.
  • Knowledge of Technology & Cyber controls.
  • Experience in managing Technology & Cyber controls.
  • Experience in senior stakeholder management, managing reporting lines and relationships across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong project and change management & governance skills.

Purpose of the Role

To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the bank’s operational, financial, and reputational risk.

Accountabilities

  • Knowledge of business areas, products, processes, and platforms to assess risk.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve control effectiveness through documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
  • Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls for continuous improvement and risk mitigation, prioritized by severity.
  • Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment, including control weaknesses and recommendations.
  • Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to policies, regulation, and best practice.
  • Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and assessment methodology.

Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate to achieve objectives. Make evaluative judgments based on factual analysis, paying attention to detail. Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions using technical experience and precedents. Guide and persuade team members, communicate complex/sensitive information. Act as a contact point for external stakeholders, building a network.
