Overview
Join us as a Data Analyst at Barclays where you will ensure the implementation of various Corporate Bank initiatives in line with the Corporate Data Strategy. In this role, you will support stakeholders by clarifying scope and impacts with business and technical SMEs, all through a strong business domain lens.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves:
- Investigating and analyzing data issues related to quality, lineage, and controls.
- Designing and building data pipelines for automated data movement.
- Applying advanced analytical techniques to large datasets to uncover trends and correlations.
- Developing validated logical data models and translating insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Designing interactive dashboards and automating reporting for stakeholder needs.
Analyst Expectations
Candidates are expected to work to a high standard, continuously improve, and take ownership of both technical and team leadership responsibilities. This includes risk mitigation, advising stakeholders across functions, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Technical Skills
A successful Data Analyst should be experienced in:
- Data Analysis using SQL.
- Data Lakehouse/Warehouse concepts.
- Payments Data Domain Knowledge (SWIFT and ISO 20022).
- Data Modeling Concepts.
- Data analysis using Python.
- Lakehouse technologies such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Project control tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Unix, ETL, and RDBMS database concepts.
Purpose of the Role
The aim is to foster data-driven strategic and operational decision making by extracting actionable insights and delivering clear visualizations and reports.
