Overview of the Role
As a CE Product Office Project Manager, you will be a pivotal contributor within the HR Product Office at Barclays, focusing on PMO and portfolio governance to ensure excellent project delivery. You will provide critical governance, oversight, and insight across all HR-owned products, working closely with Product Owners and senior stakeholders to deepen understanding of product change, maturity, and performance. Your efforts will ensure products align seamlessly with the new HR operating model and strategic culture change objectives.
This role demands a high degree of autonomy, where you will manage product governance forums, meticulously track change logs, risks, and dependencies, and generate insightful dashboards that drive informed decision-making. You will act as a trusted partner across various matrixed teams, influencing outcomes effectively without direct line management. Through robust stakeholder engagement, analytical capabilities, and portfolio-level oversight, you will support HR-led culture change initiatives through their embedding phase, gaining extensive exposure to HR products and strategic priorities while fostering an environment of continuous improvement and governance excellence.
Purpose of the Role
The core purpose of this role is to support change delivery managers in achieving successful project outcomes. This involves ensuring that project management processes and practices adhere strictly to Barclays' control and governance standards, and that all projects are strategically aligned with the organization's overarching objectives.
Key Accountabilities
- Support change delivery managers, ensuring their programs are compliant with the Barclays Control Framework, including robust oversight of controls and governance standards.
- Lead the creation and implementation of standardized PMO processes and methodologies, ensuring they align with controls and governance standards and facilitate successful project delivery.
- Monitor project performance comprehensively, including tracking progress, identifying risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, and generating clear reports on project status for senior management.
- Provide crucial support for project documentation, including maintaining accurate project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring all documentation is current and precise.
- Facilitate effective project governance, ensuring projects align with organizational strategic objectives and that risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies are managed proactively.
- Deliver change management framework training to project managers and other stakeholders, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful project delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement of project management practices by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes to optimize project delivery.
