Assistant VP, Fx Options Trader

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks an Assistant VP, Fx Options Trader in New York, NY to provide extensive coverage of a broad suite of clients in the US, including hedge funds and corporates, along with the sales workforce. This role involves providing continuous market trading color and is responsible for End-of-Day (EOD) PNL flash and accounting, as well as daily market commentary. The successful candidate will be the go-to trader in the US for desk risk runs, responsible for enhancing risk batches and run efficiency. They will manage a global options book, taking ownership of the entire franchise from front to back, including client engagement, pricing, and risk management. Daily review of desk positions, including risk and P&L, for adequacy and appropriateness is also a key responsibility. The role requires communication with the global business head to ensure awareness of client flows and key risk positions. This position may telecommute.

Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to buy and sell financial instruments, such as bonds, stocks, and derivatives, to generate revenue for the bank. This is achieved through the analysis of market conditions, execution of trades, and management of risk.

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of trading strategies aligned with the bank's risk appetite, investment objectives, and market conditions, with continuous monitoring of market movements to adjust strategies.
  • Execution of trades on behalf of the bank or proprietary trading desks, adhering to trading strategies and risk parameters.
  • Maintenance of accurate and timely trading records, preparation of daily and monthly trading reports, and contribution to the evaluation of overall trading strategy.
  • Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
  • Management and monitoring of trading portfolio risk, including setting and maintaining stop-loss limits and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
  • Raising unsecured funding in the International Money Market.
  • Execution of Structural Hedges for hedging IRRBB.

You will engage in complex data analysis from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively, and communicate complex information, including sensitive or difficult-to-convey content, influencing stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
