Overview

As Director of Brand Strategy & Creative at Bankrate, you will drive the development and execution of our brand strategy, creative direction, and identity system. You will fuel long-term brand growth, drive performance marketing impact, and scale influencer and ambassador programs. Working closely with Performance, Product Marketing, Creative, and Growth teams, you will ensure brand-first thinking is embedded across all channels.

What You’ll Do

  • Brand Strategy & Positioning: Define and evolve the brand’s positioning, voice, visual identity, and storytelling architecture.
  • Develop brand frameworks, value propositions, and tone guidelines.
  • Ensure consistent brand expression across all assets and channels.
  • Integrate stakeholders' needs into a cohesive brand strategy.
  • Creative Direction & Campaigns: Lead creative asset development for integrated marketing campaigns across paid, owned, and earned media.
  • Collaborate on campaign briefs, concepting, execution, and performance reviews.
  • Social Media Program Management: Build and scale social media, influencer, and ambassador initiatives.
  • Partner with teams to align strategies with conversion goals.
  • Brand Health & Measurement: Own KPIs such as NPS, brand awareness, and sentiment.
  • Leverage insights to iterate on messaging and creative strategies.
  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership: Develop and mentor a high-performing team.
  • Advocate for brand investment within the broader marketing strategy.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–12+ years in brand marketing, creative direction, or strategic marketing roles.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing brand strategists and creatives.
  • Proven success in scaling brand programs supporting performance goals.
  • Deep expertise in brand positioning, creative strategy, and campaign development.
  • Strong creative judgment and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing best practices and performance metrics.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation ranges from $130,000 to $250,000 per year plus equity, based on geographic location and experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; flexible spending accounts; holiday pay; 401(k) with match; and generous PTO policies.
