Overview
The Program Manager Data Governance role at Bank of Hawaii is an individual contributor position responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of an enterprise-wide data governance program.
Responsibilities
- Program Strategy: Develop and execute the enterprise Data Governance roadmap with clear priorities and success metrics.
- Policy & Standards Oversight: Implement and refine data governance policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Data Quality & Risk Management: Oversee data quality processes, risk assessments, audits, and remediation.
- Metadata & Information Architecture: Lead development of data catalogs, classification schemas, and metadata management.
- Program Reporting & Analytics: Design dashboards and reports that support strategic decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as liaison for data owners and stewards, driving collaboration across business units.
- Training and Change Management: Lead initiatives to promote a culture of data stewardship and responsibility.
- Technology Enablement: Partner with IT and business leaders to implement innovative data governance tools.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 7+ years in data governance or compliance, including at least 3 years managing complex programs in the financial services industry. Certifications such as CDMP, CIPP, CISA, or PMP are preferred. Experience with banking regulations, privacy laws, and modern data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is essential.
