What You Will Do
Join the Data and Analytics Solutions (DAS) Team and contribute to work that supports monetary policy, financial stability, and economic research. Our team ensures that critical data is accessible, reliable, and transformed into meaningful insights that inform key decisions across the organization.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data and Analytics Specialist to provide high-impact analytical solutions and support across the organization. In this role, you will contribute to a broad range of data, analytics, and cloud migration initiatives. As part of our transformation efforts, you will collaborate with economists and researchers to transition analytical solutions and processes from legacy systems to the cloud. You will design and build data pipelines, develop and maintain data models, improve data quality, create analytical models, and deliver intuitive dashboards that support economic and financial policy decision-making.
Working closely with the Assistant Director and Team Leads you develop, deliver and maintain meaningful enhancements to data and analytical solutions, while applying development best practices and creativity when addressing user needs.
More Specifically You Will
- Lead the design, development and implementation of high-quality data and analytics solutions, ensuring rigorous testing, strong data modeling, effective quality assurance, and clear, impactful visualizations, and dissemination.
- Oversee the process of gathering business requirements and creating use cases.
- Enhance, and support existing data and analytical solutions across various systems and architectures.
- Prepare clear documentation outlining data sources, models, algorithms, and business requirements.
- Advise client departments on data quality, analytical solutions, and interpreting data products.
- Mentor junior data specialists and support clients on analytical solutions, while building subject matter expertise in economic and finance data domains.
- Collaborate with teams and partners to guide data & analytics decision, contribute to solutions and architecture, and contribute to data and analytics maturity and DevOps models.
- Develop and deliver presentations and training sessions for colleagues in economic and business departments on analytical solutions and tools.

Specifically, You Have Experience
- gathering business requirements, effectively translating analytical goals into technical solutions
- developing technical workflows that automate processes, improve data quality, and deliver easily consumable results
- Working with:
- Databricks and Fabric
- at least one statistical/analytical software (e.g., MATLAB), with a focus on data transformation using Python and SQL
- development of data and analytical solution in cloud environments
- BI tools such as PowerBI to create user-oriented visualizations, dashboards, presentations, and reports
- coding and DevOps principles with a solid understanding of their application
- financial market, banking and/or macroeconomic data
Your Education And Experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or economics preferably with significant coursework in data analytics and data science. Candidates must also have at least five years of relevant experience, including a minimum of two years developing data and analytical workflows using statistical software. A combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model
The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank’s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $94,193 to $110,816 (job grade 16)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
