Role Overview: Equity Quant Associate
The Quantitative Strategies Group at Bank of America is seeking an Equity Quant Associate to be based in New York, covering the Equity Derivatives trading desks. As part of this role, you will work in an exciting, fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with traders and others to enhance the performance of existing models and develop new ones. Our primary objective is to develop and deliver best-in-class analytical capabilities, enabling our business partners to better serve client needs and improve profitability.
This role is highly technical and demands in-depth knowledge of mathematical modeling, programming languages, and a solid understanding of finance and derivatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop expert-level knowledge of the Equity Derivatives business and its product suites.
- Gain experience working directly with various traders, addressing their daily analytical and modeling needs.
- Enhance existing quantitative models and contribute to the development of new ones.
- Participate in the entire lifecycle of model and product development, including software releases.
- Develop bespoke analytical tools and reports as required by the trading desks and other partners.
- Engage in daily interaction with trading desks and collaborate closely with Risk, Finance, Middle Office, and Technology partners.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong quantitative capabilities and an academic background (MSc/PhD level) in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Demonstrated knowledge and keen interest in finance, with preferred experience in financial products and derivatives modeling.
- Robust programming and technical skills. Proficiency in at least one programming language is essential, with C/C++ and/or Python experience highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and simply.
- A strong sense of curiosity to research diverse methodologies and explore new quantitative territories.
- Ability to multitask effectively and perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate constructively with diverse individuals and teams.
