Data Management Business Support Analyst at Bank of America

The Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) data management program is a pivotal initiative supporting the business' growth plans and strengthening its control framework. This Data Management Business Support Analyst role requires a structured approach to assignment execution, combining business acumen, technical skills, detailed documentation, and a focus on efficiency. It involves close partnership with stakeholders across GCIB and the broader Enterprise to drive regulatory adherence, enhance GCIB's data architecture, strengthen data governance frameworks, and elevate operational excellence to achieve best-in-class status.

The role encompasses key data management pillars, including adherence to policy and standards, technical and business data stewardship, report governance, data domains, data architecture roadmap execution, managing data incidents/issues, and records management. This position also supports GCIB leadership in making informed decisions. The program team is seeking new talent capable of operating in a high-intensity, complex business environment, driving success through meticulous execution and embracing a "Plan-Do-Check-Act" culture as a permanent team ritual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute business-as-usual tasks with utmost priority, ensuring speed, accuracy, alignment with program objectives, and improving execution efficiency.
  • Responsible for executing Data Management policy and standards requirements.
  • Execute data management program deliverables, including GCIB process, report, dataflow, and records assessments, conducting governance routines, maintaining satisfactory controls and metrics, and preparing reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Execute the data program with an approach focused on successful implementation, clear documentation, and sustainability.
  • Support the execution of all responsibilities defined for GCIB data management named roles in policy and standards, meticulously maintaining evidence of execution.
  • Regularly engage with stakeholders to review areas impacting GCIB data risks.
  • Actively participate in audits, regulatory exams, and target assessments.
  • Establish and execute reviews of GCIB processes to ensure ongoing adherence to relevant requirements.
  • Coordinate across GCIB product areas to ensure consensus on implementation and execution approaches.
  • Escalate program risks and partner with key stakeholders to develop solutions and deliver mitigating actions for successful program completion.
  • Develop strong relationships to effectively navigate the complexities of gaining buy-in, building consensus, and resolving conflicts within a large, distributed organization.

Key Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in data risk programs; prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Proven prior experience in roles involving policy and standards adherence or data management.
  • Strong team-player attitude and a desire to learn, coupled with a result-driven approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify and summarize complex data priorities and technical concepts for executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, work-intensive organization, adapting to changing priorities while delivering with high accuracy.
  • Familiarity with GCIB business and products, with the ability to take ownership of delivery.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholders, including bankers, senior leaders, risk partners, regulators, and auditors.
  • Control-focused mindset, understanding regulatory and reputational risks.
