Overview

As a Cyber Crime Specialist, you will work in the Cybercrime Disruption & Response team to strengthen the bank’s cybercrime posture through threat intelligence, research, and extensive data analytics.

Position Summary

This role involves analyzing large data sets to detect advanced threats and attack techniques under the guidance of more senior team members. You will collaborate with data science, threat research, and fraud teams to develop innovative threat detection hypotheses and improve existing security controls.

  • Analyze and correlate transactional data to identify threats.
  • Develop and document new threat detection methods.
  • Collaborate with global teams including cyber defense and fraud teams.
  • Prepare in-depth reports on threat activity and social engineering trends.
  • Advise on new fraud strategies and proactive security controls.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct research on cybercrime trends and impact.
  • Maintain knowledge of social engineering techniques.
  • Review technical data and identify threat indicators.
  • Advise leadership on emerging attack trends and fraud risks.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to mitigate cyber threats.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • 3+ years in technical roles such as fraud detection, threat hunting, incident response, or cyber threat intelligence.
  • Experience with data management systems (IBM DB2, SQL Server, Python, etc.).
  • Python proficiency including OOP, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
  • Proficiency with analytics libraries like Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and visualization tools.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex ideas to peers and management.
  • Understanding of OSINT, killchains, and social engineering techniques.

Work Environment

The role is office-based with specific on-site requirements, ensuring an environment that supports collaboration and learning.
