About Us
Founded by Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1917 in Spain, and established in Paris in 1937, Maison Balenciaga redefined modern haute couture through its many innovations in shape and technique. Today, the Maison perpetuates its founder's vision through bold collections, including women's and men's ready-to-wear, accessories, and art objects. Its unprecedented commitment to digital and social and environmental responsibility, and its innovations in material research, keep the brand at the forefront of modernity. In 2021, Balenciaga's 50th couture collection, the first since its founder's departure in 1968, reintroduced a standard of avant-garde elegance. From October 2015 to July 2025, Demna signed the Men's and Women's collections as Artistic Director. In July 2025, Pierpaolo Piccioli was appointed Creative Director of Balenciaga.
