The AI Analyst I plays a key role in streamlining and enhancing business processes across the construction project lifecycle using AI-powered applications, copilots, and workflow automation. As a member of the IT Applications team, this role partners closely with senior IT and Operational Excellence leaders, and business teams to identify opportunities where AI can simplify work, accelerate decision-making, and improve productivity across functions such as Marketing, Preconstruction, Operations, and Project Financials.This is an ideal position for a motivated analyst with strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and an ability to understand business workflows. It is also well-suited for someone who is excited about the future of AI, eager to implement automation solutions, and interested in growing into a long-term technical and strategic contributor. This role is on-site 5 days per week in Escondido, CA.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Implement and configure AI-powered applications and copilots using Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and other approved commercially available AI tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency across business phases.
- Automate repetitive tasks and processes by configuring AI-enabled workflows and productivity tools within Microsoft 365 and other core business platforms.
- Collaborate with Operational Excellence and Operating Groups to identify high-impact opportunities where AI can drive efficiency enhancements.
- Translate operational needs into AI use cases, creating solution requirements and user stories based on data, interviews, and direct observation.
- Design user-friendly AI experiences, including guided flows, prompts, and automation steps that can be easily adopted by non-technical business users.
- Document AI solutions, configurations, and key design decisions to ensure they can be understood and maintained by other IT team members.
- Support AI adoption and change management by preparing training materials, leading demos, collecting user feedback, and refining solutions based on real-world insights.
- Monitor the performance and reliability of AI workflows and copilots, ensuring output remains aligned with business objectives and compliance expectations.
- Stay current with emerging, relevant AI capabilities and recommend new opportunities to improve business efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making.
- Ensure AI solutions align with company AI, data governance, security, and compliance standards.
Technical Skills
- Experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles to help ensure AI tools are intuitive and easy to use.
- Experience with Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or similar tools is a plus.
- Exposure to SQL, Python, or API concepts is a plus.
Industry-Specific Knowledge
Experience in the following areas is not required but considered beneficial:- Background in construction, energy, industrial services, or technology.
- General understanding of construction project lifecycle concepts.
- Understanding of common construction documents (plans, specs, RFIs, submittals).
Experience, Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration, operations management, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years’ experience working with AI tools, workflow automation, business analysis, or UX/UI-focused roles.
- Internship or project-based work with AI or automation is acceptable.
