Job Description
Traditional Labor Shareholder at Baker Donelson
Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C. is seeking a distinguished shareholder-level attorney to join its nationally-recognized Labor & Employment practice. This is a pivotal opportunity for a seasoned practitioner with extensive experience in traditional labor law to build and lead the Firm’s capabilities across various industries and its comprehensive geographic footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employers on all facets of traditional labor law, including union avoidance, union organizing, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, labor strategy, and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) matters.
- Represent clients effectively before the National Labor Relations Board and in labor arbitrations and negotiations.
- Manage and expand a robust existing book of business while proactively cultivating new client relationships.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with attorneys across diverse practice groups and office locations on intricate labor and employment cases.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior attorneys within the dynamic labor & employment practice group.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of dedicated experience in traditional labor law, evidenced by a strong track record of successful employer representation.
- Active admission to practice law in the state where the attorney intends to be based.
- A self-sustaining, portable book of business is a mandatory requirement for this role.
- Demonstrated experience leading labor strategy and complex negotiations is highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and client service skills are essential.
