Traditional Labor Shareholder at Baker Donelson

The esteemed law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C. is seeking a distinguished shareholder-level attorney with extensive expertise in traditional labor law. This individual will join our nationally-recognized Labor & Employment practice, bringing significant experience to a pivotal role.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a seasoned practitioner to build and lead the Firm’s traditional labor capabilities across diverse industries and our expansive geographic footprint. The ideal candidate will possess deep management-side labor experience and thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial firm culture, aiming to grow their practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise employers on all facets of traditional labor law, including union avoidance, union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, overall labor strategy, and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) matters.
  • Represent clients effectively before the National Labor Relations Board, in labor arbitrations, and during complex negotiations.
  • Manage and strategically grow a substantial book of business while actively cultivating new client relationships.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with attorneys across various practice groups and office locations on intricate labor and employment issues.
  • Serve as a dedicated mentor and leader to junior attorneys within the robust labor & employment practice.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience specifically in traditional labor law, evidenced by a proven track record of successful employer representation.
  • Active admission to practice law in the state where the attorney will primarily be based.
  • A self-sustaining portable book of business is a mandatory requirement for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading labor strategy development and complex negotiations is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and client service skills are essential.

This shareholder position offers the flexibility to be based at any office location within Baker Donelson's widespread footprint.
