About the Role of Traditional Labor Shareholder Attorney at Baker Donelson
The law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C. is actively seeking a highly experienced shareholder-level attorney specializing in traditional labor law to join its esteemed nationally-recognized Labor & Employment practice. This is a unique and significant opportunity to spearhead and expand the Firm’s traditional labor capabilities across various industries and its extensive geographic footprint. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned practitioner, possessing profound management-side labor experience, eager to build and cultivate a thriving practice within a collaborative and entrepreneurial firm culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employers on all facets of traditional labor law, including union avoidance strategies, union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, overall labor strategy, and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) matters.
- Represent clients effectively before the National Labor Relations Board, as well as in critical labor arbitrations and complex negotiations.
- Manage and strategically grow a substantial book of business while actively cultivating and fostering new, valuable client relationships.
- Collaborate seamlessly with attorneys across diverse practice groups and office locations on intricate labor and employment legal matters.
- Serve as a dedicated mentor and influential leader to junior attorneys within the robust labor & employment practice.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of intensive experience in traditional labor law, coupled with a proven and demonstrated track record of success in representing employers.
- Active admission to practice law in the state where the attorney intends to be based.
- A self-sustaining and portable book of business is a mandatory requirement for this role.
- Extensive experience in leading labor strategy and complex negotiations is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, superior relationship-building capabilities, and outstanding client service skills are essential.
