Overview
Baker Donelson is seeking a shareholder or counsel-level Business Transactional Tax Attorney with a minimum of 10 years of transactional tax experience. This role involves serving as a trusted advisor for both internal and external firm clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Structure financial transactions to optimize tax outcomes.
- Advise on M&A, financing, private equity, and capital markets transactions.
- Negotiate and draft transactional documentation and agreements.
- Prepare and issue tax opinions.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups and offices.
- Mentor and lead junior attorneys within the tax practice.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in transactional tax matters.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Strong understanding of partnership, corporate, and international tax issues.
- Expertise in private equity, cross-border transactions or real estate tax is preferred.
- LL.M in Tax is preferred.
- Admission to practice in the state where based.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and client service skills.
