Overview

Baker Donelson is seeking a shareholder or counsel-level Business Transactional Tax Attorney with a minimum of 10 years of transactional tax experience. This role involves serving as a trusted advisor for both internal and external firm clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure financial transactions to optimize tax outcomes.
  • Advise on M&A, financing, private equity, and capital markets transactions.
  • Negotiate and draft transactional documentation and agreements.
  • Prepare and issue tax opinions.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups and offices.
  • Mentor and lead junior attorneys within the tax practice.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in transactional tax matters.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Strong understanding of partnership, corporate, and international tax issues.
  • Expertise in private equity, cross-border transactions or real estate tax is preferred.
  • LL.M in Tax is preferred.
  • Admission to practice in the state where based.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and client service skills.
