Who You'll Work With: FRWD - Marketing Acceleration
FRWD is Bain & Company’s marketing acceleration capability, a ~100-person community of expert practitioners who partner with clients (and their agencies) to drive meaningful business results and transformation. We are expert practitioners sourced from some of the world’s leading in-house marketing teams, agencies and tech platforms, focused on delivering actionable insights with a passion for results, defining not only what to do and why, but also how – rooted in real marketplace expertise.
FRWD’s work revolves around solving Bain clients’ toughest marketing challenges, often taking a few common forms:
- E-commerce Growth & Retail Media Strategy: Advise brands and retailers on e-commerce acceleration, retail media monetization, and capability building to unlock value across owned platforms and marketplaces.
- Marketing Strategy & Performance Transformation: Lead comprehensive marketing diagnostics to uncover performance drivers and identify value-creation opportunities; partner with clients to design and execute data-driven marketing strategies that accelerate growth.
- Scaled Experimentation & Impact Acceleration: Enable clients to institutionalize experimentation at scale—strengthening test-and-learn capabilities, driving measurable ROI improvement, and enhancing long-term brand equity.
- Marketing Technology & Data Transformation: Evaluate and transform clients’ marketing technology and data foundations; prioritize high-impact use cases and develop actionable transformation roadmaps to enable next-generation marketing performance.
- Commercial Due Diligence & Value Creation: Partner with private equity investors to assess marketing capabilities and performance of target assets; identify growth levers and design marketing-led value creation plans post-acquisition.
FRWD works with clients across all industries and capabilities spanning both B2C and B2B settings.
Where You'll Fit Within the Team
As an Expert Manager, E-commerce & Quick-commerce Marketing, you’ll work side-by-side with Bain teams and clients to build transformational growth strategies in India’s fast-evolving commerce landscape. You’ll lead diagnostic work, craft platform-specific roadmaps, and run test-and-learn pilots that tie directly to business outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating eCommerce and Q-Com in India.
- Develop tailored growth strategies using a mix of data analysis and in-platform experience.
- Leverage tools across Amazon Ads, Flipkart Ads, Myntra, Nykaa, and Q-Com platforms to optimize spend and drive performance.
- Lead test-and-learn engagements that improve visibility, conversion, and retention.
- Interpret campaign and sales data, turning insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with Bain consultants and client stakeholders, driving measurable outcomes across media and sales KPIs.
- Contribute to internal knowledge building and share best practices across Bain’s global FRWD community.
About You
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in eCommerce, retail media, or performance marketing.
- Experience with Q-Com platforms in India (e.g., Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart).
- Track record in media buying or campaign execution at agencies, brands, or platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, economics, or a related field preferred.
Skills & Mindset
- Deep knowledge of eCommerce tools and advertising platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, etc.).
- Strong grasp of commerce KPIs: ROAS, CAC, LTV, CTR, conversion rate, basket size.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools (Excel, GA, native platform dashboards).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly collaborative, with a growth mindset and comfort with ambiguity.
- Willingness to colocate with teams as needed and travel occasionally.
