Who you'll work with
You will join FRWD, Bain & Company’s marketing acceleration capability, a community of approximately 100 expert practitioners. FRWD partners with clients and their agencies to drive significant business results and transformation. The team comprises expert practitioners from leading in-house marketing teams, agencies, and tech platforms, focusing on delivering actionable insights with a passion for results. They define not only what to do and why, but also how, rooted in real market expertise.
FRWD addresses clients’ toughest marketing challenges, often in these forms:
- E-commerce Growth & Retail Media Strategy: Advising brands and retailers on e-commerce acceleration, retail media monetization, and capability building across owned platforms and marketplaces.
- Marketing Strategy & Performance Transformation: Leading comprehensive marketing diagnostics to identify value-creation opportunities, designing and executing data-driven strategies for growth.
- Scaled Experimentation & Impact Acceleration: Enabling clients to institutionalize experimentation, strengthening test-and-learn capabilities, driving measurable ROI, and enhancing long-term brand equity.
- Marketing Technology & Data Transformation: Evaluating and transforming clients’ marketing technology and data foundations, prioritizing high-impact use cases, and developing roadmaps for next-generation marketing performance.
- Commercial Due Diligence & Value Creation: Partnering with private equity investors to assess marketing capabilities of target assets, identifying growth levers and designing marketing-led value creation plans post-acquisition.
FRWD works with clients across all industries and capabilities, in both B2C and B2B settings.
Where you'll fit within the team
As an Expert Manager, E-commerce & Quick-Commerce Marketing, you’ll collaborate directly with Bain teams and clients. Your role will involve building transformational growth strategies within India’s rapidly evolving commerce landscape. You will lead diagnostic work, craft platform-specific roadmaps, and execute test-and-learn pilots that directly link to business outcomes.
What you'll do
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating the complexities of E-commerce and Quick-Commerce in India.
- Develop customized growth strategies by integrating rigorous data analysis with in-platform experience.
- Utilize tools across major platforms like Amazon Ads, Flipkart Ads, Myntra, Nykaa, and various Quick-Commerce platforms to optimize spend and enhance performance.
- Lead and manage test-and-learn engagements aimed at improving visibility, conversion rates, and customer retention.
- Interpret campaign and sales data effectively, translating insights into clear, practical, and actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with Bain consultants and client stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes across key media and sales performance indicators.
- Actively contribute to internal knowledge building and disseminate best practices throughout Bain’s global FRWD community.
About You
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in E-commerce, retail media, or performance marketing.
- Proven experience with Quick-Commerce platforms in India (e.g., Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart).
- Strong track record in media buying or campaign execution gained at agencies, brands, or major platforms.
- A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, economics, or a closely related field is preferred.
Skills & Mindset
- Deep knowledge of E-commerce tools and advertising platforms, including Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, etc.
- Strong understanding and ability to manage key commerce KPIs such as ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), LTV (Lifetime Value), CTR (Click-Through Rate), conversion rate, and basket size.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools, including Excel, Google Analytics, and native platform dashboards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
- Highly collaborative nature, coupled with a growth mindset and comfort operating in ambiguous environments.
- Willingness to colocate with teams as required and undertake occasional travel.
