Job Description
Business Consultant at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence
BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is a leading force with 4,500 digital, cyber, and intelligence experts operating across 10 countries. We collaborate to collect, connect, and understand complex data, empowering governments, nation states, armed forces, and commercial businesses to achieve digital advantage in the most challenging environments.
We are rapidly expanding and seeking experienced Business Consultants to join our teams in London or Manchester. This role offers hybrid working arrangements, with consideration for both full and part-time applicants.
Consulting in National Security
As a Business Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our national security customers. You will guide them through the entire lifecycle of their most challenging projects, from initial business justification and strategy development to design, planning, and implementation.
Building trusted relationships is paramount to our approach. You will work closely with customers to gain a deep understanding of their business objectives and challenges, identify risks, pinpoint areas for improvement, and uncover opportunities. Your strategic advice will be objective, delivering innovative solutions that help navigate complex strategic challenges within the national security landscape.
While experience in the digital, technology, and/or cyber domains is beneficial, it is not essential. Other valuable skills include designing and implementing new business structures, developing robust business cases, and providing regulatory and policy advice. Experience in briefing, offering counsel, and cultivating trusted relationships with public sector clients, alongside an understanding of the UK government's organizational landscape, would also be highly advantageous.
Professional Development
BAE Systems DI is committed to the continuous progression of its people. Our Consulting Development Framework clearly outlines expectations for consultants, with competencies designed to support performance and career advancement. This framework empowers you to make informed decisions about your strengths, development areas, and the types of work and roles that will foster a successful career. We will support your aspirations if you possess process mapping or business change skills and wish to gain expertise in digital transformation and strategy development.
Security Clearance
Due to the sensitive nature of our work, successful candidates for this Business Consultant role will be required to hold an active eDV security clearance prior to application.
Recognised Excellence
BAE Digital Intelligence was the only organization in the Aerospace and Defence sector to achieve a Gold rating in the Financial Times’ “UK’s Leading Management Consultants 2023” listing, a testament to our commitment to excellence.
How We Will Support You
- Competitive salary and bonus scheme.
- Flexible benefits package including private medical/dental, share incentive, competitive pension, and income protection.
- Work-life balance with 25 days holiday annually, plus options to buy/sell.
- Dedicated Career Manager for professional guidance and development.
- Professional skills training and support for Chartered Management Consultant status.
- Automatic membership in our Management Consulting Community for networking.
- Access to various Diversity and Support groups focusing on well-being and inclusion.

We welcome all backgrounds and ensure our recruitment processes are as inclusive as possible. Reasonable adjustments are available for candidates with disabilities or health conditions.
Please note that roles at BAE Systems are subject to security and export control restrictions. Applicants must achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard, and many roles require higher National Security Vetting, often necessitating 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency.
