In this Embedded Software Engineer opportunity, you will be part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment supporting a dynamic cross-functional team that supports safety critical systems and make impacts in the following ways:
- Perform software development activities such as architecting, designing and implementing software product security features, performing product security integration, and supporting validation for complex embedded safety critical control systems through all stages of the software development cycle (requirements, design, code, and verification).
- Applying any of the following security processes; DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), DO-326A Airworthiness Security Process Specification or ISO-21434 Road Vehicle Security.
- Collaborate cross-functionality with Systems and Hardware Engineers to translate business needs and customer requirements into technical solutions, including performing SW/HW integration testing, verification, and debug.
- Implement and oversee best practices for software development, including version control, coding standards, automated testing, and integration.
- May also be involved in reverse engineering existing code bases to address problem reports, implement enhancements and improve overall structure for maintainability.
- Assist in risk management and mitigation strategies for software development.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS with 6+ years of experience in avionics or electronic controls embedded development in a safety or mission critical environment (i.e., aerospace, military, energy, nuclear, automotive, medical devices).
- Full software lifecycle leadership experience from requirements development through verification.
- Experience integrating on real-time, safety-critical electronic control systems that include hardware, software and programmable logic devices.
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with C/C++, Python programming and experience performing static/dynamic code analysis.
- Technical writing skills: capable of creating required engineering documentation.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's, Master’s with 8 or more years of related experience with at least 3 years implementing and testing cybersecurity features.
- Experience developing device drivers/board support packages.
- Familiar with data transfer protocols (ARINC 429, RS-232, MIL-STD-1553).
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with implementing cybersecurity capabilities leveraging features/components including any of the following; secure boot, cryptographic accelerators, Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) or Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
- Understanding of purpose and usage of; cryptographic objects: Keys, Certs, CRLs; algorithms: SHA, AES, RSA, ECC, HMAC, GMAC, etc., and protocols: TLS/DTLS, IPSec, etc.
- Experience applying any of the following security processes; DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), DO-326A Airworthiness Security Process Specification or ISO-21434 Road Vehicle Security.
- Experience with MITRE’s CVEs, CWEs, CAPEC and ATT&CK.
- Experience with Multi-core and ARM processing hardware.
- Experience with safety critical development guidelines including ARP4754, DO-178B/C, DO-254, ISO-26262 or equivalent safety process requirements.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership.
- Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Motivated self-starter with good problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability, with good planning and organizational skills.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118,095 - $200,762Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
