Database Administrator

Overview

The Database Administrator at BAE Systems, Inc. is responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases in a fast-paced, operational program.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform daily database administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of system databases and replication issues.
• Monitor database performance and memory allocations using standard tools.
• Execute system updates and IAVA patching.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database problems, including performance tuning.
• Perform database recovery actions and implement security measures.
• Develop and execute SQL queries for routine and ad hoc requests.
• Translate requirements into efficient database schemas and scripts.
• Recommend and implement design practices for optimal database performance.
• Support the development of databases, parser software, and loading tools.

Basic Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of experience as a database administrator with Oracle Database Administration is required alongside skills in database security, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and experience with PL/SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 8+ years of experience, as well as exposure to real-time replication technologies and Agile frameworks, are preferred.
