As a Data Consultant based in London, you will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering clients' information management and exploitation strategies. This position is central to transforming how organizations derive value from their data assets while ensuring appropriate security and management.

Job Overview

The Data Consultant is an expert in data exploitation, solutions, management, problem-solving, and business consulting and analysis. This expertise enables them to advise client organizations on data-driven transformation, focusing on the people, process, business change, requirements, and planning aspects of data challenges. A strong high-level understanding of data architecture, data solution delivery, and data science approaches is also essential.

This role operates under broad direction, often self-initiated, with full responsibility for meeting allocated objectives. You will analyze, design, plan, execute, and evaluate work to time, cost, and quality targets, establishing milestones and significantly influencing task assignment and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understands and distills business challenges in complex environments, providing thought leadership.
  • Develops and actions data strategies and roadmaps, utilizing maturity assessments and user needs analysis to define vision and articulate steps.
  • Considers business and cultural change aspects alongside technical data challenges.
  • Defines and supports the implementation of an organization’s data governance framework.
  • Defines the operating model required to support an organization’s data vision.
  • Develops relationships with senior client stakeholders and represents their interests.
  • Translates business goals into actionable plans.
  • Communicates complex data challenges and strategies to senior client stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements and user needs, delivering analysis and problem resolution, and identifying, evaluating, and recommending options.
  • Manages the investigation of corporate data requirements and coordinates the application of data analysis and data modeling techniques.
  • Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing solution capabilities and effectiveness.
  • Provides well-informed advice on multiple topics, ensuring it is properly understood and exploited.
  • Supports seniors in the analysis and documentation of strategic data options and direction.
  • Drafts and maintains policies, standards, and procedures for information and/or data governance.
  • Reviews information and data systems for compliance against organizational policies, legislation, and risk, making recommendations for changes.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of a broad range of industry-wide modeling techniques and advises on technique choice.
