Digital Technology Regulatory Lawyer
Axiom is actively seeking a Digital Technology Regulatory Lawyer in the UK. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our global clientele with the intricate legal and regulatory challenges spanning the digital landscape. This includes critical areas such as cybersecurity, online safety, artificial intelligence (AI), and data privacy, alongside other burgeoning technologies.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal counsel on a broad spectrum of compliance matters, proactively reviewing and interpreting regulatory developments.
- Advise on the implications and application of new regulations to business operations, policies, and products, including reporting requirements and risk exposure.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance compliance frameworks that foster ethical conduct, regulatory adherence, and operational resilience across global functions.
- Draft essential regulatory policy wording, as well as crucial regulatory clauses for contracts and templates.
- Monitor external legal, regulatory, and procedural developments, generating relevant updates and conducting training for internal stakeholders as appropriate.
- Support cross-functional compliance initiatives within the digital and technology regulatory landscape, ensuring alignment with evolving standards and promoting a culture of accountability, transparency, and sustainability.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should possess 5+ years of post-qualification experience, gained either in-house or with a top-tier law firm, advising clients on compliance initiatives within complex regulatory environments.
- Substantial expertise advising on digital regulatory frameworks within the technology sector, including cybersecurity, AI governance, and online trust and safety.
- Good knowledge of key legislation such as UK Digital Operations Resilience Act, UK Critical Third Party regime, GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, EU Digital Services Act, EU AI Act, EU Digital Markets Act, UK Online Safety Act, and NIS2.
- Demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment, detail-orientation, strong analytical capabilities, superior interpersonal and communication skills, and a proactive approach.
- Ability to operate autonomously and collaboratively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be UK based and authorised to work and practise law in the UK.
