The Middle Office Operations team is crucial for managing operational tasks undertaken by Shared Services / Global Operations, providing essential support to Underwriting, and ensuring that administrative processes across the end-to-end policy lifecycle operate efficiently and with high quality to serve both internal and external clients.

This team also plays a vital role in supporting the design and delivery of strategic change initiatives impacting the Underwriting business. Previous projects include the operational design strategy for Brexit, the planning and execution of an offshore service centre relocation between countries, and supporting data and system workstreams for new legal entity creation.

You will be based in either our London or Ipswich office. We proudly embrace our Smart Working initiative, offering a hybrid work model that combines both remote and office working.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Responsibilities)

  • Manage end-to-end operational processes effectively.
  • Liaise daily with Enterprise Shared Services teams and Underwriters.
  • Monitor Data Quality and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Investigate queries with an analytical mindset.
  • Ensure adherence to company guidelines and policies.
  • Manage processes and Service Level Agreements.
  • Complete or assist with regulatory reporting, such as FIC/SOX.
  • Support and drive simplification and standardization efforts.
  • Undertake ad hoc and project tasks as assigned by your line manager.

Required Skills And Abilities
  • Computer literacy, with advantageous experience in Microsoft Outlook, Excel (including formulas & pivots), Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Proactive individual with an enthusiasm for delivering change.
  • Effective and professional communicator, proven in stakeholder management.
  • Accurate with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent proactive organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize own work.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Sound mathematical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and statistics.
  • Creative thinker, curious, and ready to challenge the status quo.
  • An appetite for achievement and building a career within the insurance market.
Desired Skills And Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel LOOKUPS & IF formulas.
  • System data entry and process experience.
  • Previous project-related experience.
  • Previous insurance experience from an administration or operational support perspective.
  • Experience of the London and/or Lloyd’s Market.
  • Knowledge of underwriting processes.
