About the role

Debt and Equity Producer - Avison Young

The Debt and Equity Producer is a strategic and entrepreneurial professional responsible for originating, structuring, and executing commercial real estate financing solutions across the entire capital stack. In this role, you will work with institutional and private clients to secure and place debt and equity for a range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, refinancing, development, and recapitalization. As part of the Tri-State debt and equity team led by Scott Singer, you will have a talented team to provide support and guidance to your origination and execution efforts. You will leverage deep market knowledge, an extensive network of lender and investor relationships, and exceptional financial acumen to deliver optimal capital solutions that meet client objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively source and originate new commercial real estate financing opportunities by building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, investors, and industry partners.
  • Structure and execute complex debt and equity placements, managing the transaction from initial engagement and financial analysis through to negotiation, due diligence, and closing.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic counsel on capital solutions, market trends, and financing strategies that align with their business goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including cash flow modeling and underwriting, to evaluate and prepare compelling loan and equity packages for presentation to the capital markets.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of relationships with a diverse range of capital sources, including commercial banks, life insurance companies, private equity firms, and debt funds.
  • Stay informed of current market conditions, interest rates, underwriting standards, and emerging trends to provide expert advice and identify opportunities for clients.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience (preferably 7 to 10 years in total) in commercial real estate finance, with a proven track record of originating and closing debt and equity transactions.
  • Deep understanding of commercial real estate debt and equity structures, underwriting principles, and capital markets.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • An established and active network of relationships with commercial real estate investors and capital providers.
  • Expert proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • A highly motivated and results-driven individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong commitment to client service.
